BDH, & all, I'm really liking this rom. A few points:

1. I have a strange circumstance to report: I just d/l'ed & installed 2.8 yesterday & since then I've gotten three or more Goo notices that there is an update for the rom… v2.8?? what gives?

2. Can I use the widget News & Weather 1.3.11 with this rom? (I have it as an unrestored app in TiBu backup list fm a recent rom).

3. I'm using Widgetsoid to add a couple of bars of toggles; is there any benefit to switch to Power Tools?

4. LMT PIE tool seems very cool; does it take a lot of resources if I keep it resident by setting it to start up on boot?

thanks in advance to any who can answer / help;

p.s. are there any themes for this rom?

all the best, SpyderMan

The notification is something we are all getting. You can disable the notification in the app or just ignore it.

I haven't noticed LMT using much in the way of resources.

There may be a theme or 2 coming...

I'm using a transparent genie widget with this ROM and have no issues. Just remember to put it in system/app and change permissions (r,rw). Reboot..golden

1.) Known issue, just ignore or turn off notifications.

2.) You should be fine using that app.

3.) Power Toggles is pretty customizable but that's all about personal preference. You'll have to try them out and see which you like better.

4.) LMT Launcher (PIE) hardly uses any resources at all. Every "key" or button on LMT is essentially just an animated shortcut.

5.) Themes are currently being worked on as we speak :)

There's the one I've been posting screenshots of, and I'm also working on a variation of that theme.

You should get the 4.2 clock/alarm app in this. That's good stuff.

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I haven't been able to get tethering to work even after downloading multiple apps. Bad flash/ download?

I use Wireless Tether by Lemons. I've used it every since my original Droid. Yes. Original slide out keyboard. LoL.

Love the Power Toggle options. I use it as a second row to the stock Power Toggle settings for those ones I want to quickly access, WiFi tether, BT search, Torch, BT discover, etc. Please don't remove the default power settings (GPS is one click where all the third party GPS are multiple steps).

I love Power Toggles, too! I use it for a second row just like you. I like adding apps, and the flashlight is one less app I need installed on my Droid. I don't have issues with the GPS being a one-click toggle. Here's a screenshot of mine:

First off I'd like to let you know this ROM is beast so thanks for that BDH . I do encounter a minor issue, however . I sometimes got a random gapps force close, I wonder what may have caused this? I did install this clean (delete and created ROM slot, wipe everything and stuff). I also restore my apps through tibu. Not sure what went wrong. Thanks in advance!

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I actually was getting the random force closes with gApps, too. I have no idea what the issue was, but it went away when I bit the bullet and wiped everything. I then restored my apps, homescreens, and other settings via Titanium Backup.

I believe the force close is coming from a backup restore or something. Maybe I tried restoring a gApps feature through Titanium, or maybe it was my flashing the ROM without wiping. This was happening to me on 2.4 version of RAGE. Let us know if you keep having the issue after wiping everything and restoring your backups through Titanium. Obviously, backup everything prior to wiping.

For those that aren't into the LMT 'Pie slice' add-on, there is an alternative to get functionality like the "Hold Back to kill" in CM ROM's. This app puts a 'Kill current app' function in the drop-down notification bar.
It does require Busybox and Root to work properly, but it works on the awesome Rage ROM which I've confirmed.
You can check it out here:

Enjoy!

I will be trying that feature right now!! Hold Back To Kill is the GREATEST feature that I miss having! Thank you.

Make that 4 - Issue with every restart. Toggle works, but it is very strange nonetheless. No issue on any other Rom or on stock. My guess (and this is a wild guess) is that it has to do with something in the initial boot interface with the antenna. I get it regardless of whether I boot with the phone in Global mode or in LTE/CDMA only mode. A toggle to the other mode with an airplane mode toggle does alleviate the issue.

Also, this one I can't figure out - I keep getting notifications that there is a new version via GOO - when I'm already running the latest version (happened in both 2.7 and 2.8). Is this normal every time I reboot the device?

For those having issues with texts.. For giggles.. Try using the GoSMS app to see if the app can correct the issue. I actually had that issue before RAGE, and GoSMS was the only app that completely alleviated my intermittent text messaging issues. I don't use GoSMS anymore. I only use RAGE messaging, but just try if the below options don't work.

Also. I do not think the LTE/CDMA Only mode works. I strongly recommend using one of the following two settings when accessing your phone menu: (which can be accessed with one click in Power Toggles - check my previous post's screenshot for the "4G" button I use)

LTE/CDMA/EvDo//WCDMA

(I just remember this one as the longest option)

OR

CDMA auto (PRL)

(I use this for 3G only mode.)

The 4G toggle in Power Toggles doesn't do anything on my Razr Maxx.

Did you adjust the Preferences settings for that? I had to adjust it to be the Shortcut to the Phone Info. I don't use it as a toggle, as the toggle worked intermittently.

Hey, everyone. Quick question for our little growing community of fellow RAGErs....

Is anyone having battery misrepresentations? I'm not sure if it's my device, RAGE, or what...

When I plug my Droid into a charger, it will typically jump from 88% to 100% as soon as it's plugged in. Anything over 87% will jump to 100%. It will continue to charge as normal, but it indicates 100% in the notification bar. When SafeStrap actually displayed the battery levels (hate how they took that off! Ugh), SafeStrap always displayed correctly.

The only way I can tell when I'm fully charged is to watch the voltage (third party apps) climb to 4369 or 4371.

(is my signature gay? LoL)

EDIT: It will ALSO drop from 9% to 4% when it reached that low.

I haven't noticed those battery misrepresentation while charging but I will look for it the next time I plug in.
I use gsam battery monitor with a battery indicator in the notification pulldown.

I've also noticed that it drops from 9% to 5%.

Thank you for your input and experience.

I have also noticed (when calibrating) my Droid doesn't charge past 94% while turned off, but it'll indicate 100% with a huge checkmark in the battery icon. When I turn on the Droid, it will show 94% in the notification bar's battery icon.
