I downloaded through Goomanager. But I went into Safestrap to flash. I wiped cache/delvic cache and then installed the update. It will be located in /sdcard/goomanager.

So Goo is reporting 2.8 but not announced here. For r those who did install what are the differences!!!

CDMA and GSM versions updated to v2.8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Minor changes in CDMA version. (Fixed updater-script to actually install /data/app/ packages.) Honestly some other little changes but I can't remember what all I did.
Major overhaul for UMTS (GSM) version. Too many changes to list this time. OTA updates through Goo Manager App. Download from your phone using the Goo Manager app available in the Play Store

Downloaded a little earlier today, but Goo says i have an update available. Guess what it is. That's right, 2.8. Should I, and others like me, download again and re-flash?

Damn, must not have worked. No it's ok, as long as your "about phone" says 2.8 then you're good. You'll just have to ignore the update. Sorry for the problem with it guys. I'll work on it a little more tonight.

Just wanted to say, I've had the Razr Maxx for about a year now, and with Rage installed I'm FINALLY getting the battery life I always wanted!!! Way faster and better battery life, Rage is amazing, Thank you BDH!!!!!!!!

lol damn im still on v2.3 looks like i need to update XP hopefully i can just dirty flash, but if not oh well
Can you not download the file using Goomanager? Then install via safestrap, with deleting the slot and then establishing the slot again. I'm not sure going from 2.3, but might work.

With it still being a CDMA phone, you would probably need the CDMA build. I could be wrong but I think that's right.
