Not a noob question at all :)

Some people use Titanium Backup but I use "MyBackup Pro." Works better with ROMs in my opinion than Titanium.


Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I used MyBackup Pro pre-root, so glad to hear it is a good option. Thank you for all your work and dedication on this ROM, from your posts it sounds like you might be a bit of a perfectionist, which is nice for us end users! :)

The download finishes fine each time, but when I try to open the .zip file it shows as an invalid .zip. Is it supposed to look ike a valid .zip file?

Not sure what you mean by that. Why are you trying to open the zip file?

Yes I am actually. I just don't believe in letting things be broken. :) I've been using MBP for 2 years and never looked back.

Not sure what you mean by that. Why are you trying to open the zip file?
-In that past, that's how I've validated a ROM download. If the zip file was valid, I got a good download.
-If it didn't validate, I didn't try to flash it.
-I'm trying to download with Goo Mgr now. I will advise. Thanks. -Kev

**-No joy with Goo Mgr. The Mgr says the RageROM download finished but when I try to flash RageROM I get the Android on his side with the red ! triangle
- Any help is greatly appreciated. -Kev

Hey BigDaddyHicks, can you tell me how you've gone into the stock messaging app and changed its name? I'd like to change the name of a couple apps on my phone (flashlight app, file manager app) but don't know how.

I figured since you're going through and updating apps to make them more "Rage" themed, you'd know how.

I have also tried to download the zip file twice without success. If I try to look inside the zip file it says "Error: Central Directory Not Found". I'll install the Goo App and see if that works. BTW: The size of the problematic zip file is 307,670KB.

Downloaded v2.6 two times and SS failed both attempts to flash it.

Downloaded v2.6 two times and SS failed both attempts to flash it.

Me too. Downloaded to my Razr and immediately failed on dirty install. Downloaded to my laptop and BT transferred to Razr SD card and failed. Trying my third download now.

I am in the middle of a Goo DL direct to my Razr, but I am pretty sure that's going to fail, too. It seems clear that there must a problem with the posted zip so the fact that I am downloading the exact same file using a different method is certain to fail as well. If I'm wrong and it actually works, I'll let you know.

Same here. BDH - can you please update the 2.6 zIp file on Goo.im? I've tried 3 times on 3 different platforms to download it and had the same error each time.

3 strikes and I'm out...although I was able to download the zipped file 3 times without problems, it immediately fails on SS 3.11 install. :wacko:

I thought I did since I have a pretty solid connection and fails in SS. I tried my phone first and thought it was my phone so I went to a PC and same thing.

I don't think anyone is panicking here...just trying to confirm the source of the problem as being the actual zipped file or not. If someone has successfully downloaded and installed v2.6, then there is a different explanation.

True. I doubt anyone is trying to rush him into getting it fixed ASAP but it's more of us confirming that it is happening and not just to a few people but most.

I don't think anyone here was upset or requesting he drop his real life to tend to this problem. I'm pretty sure the point was to raise awareness of the issue and confirm that others were having the same issue so people wouldn't think it was their own doing that it was not installing.

I'm a long time lurker on these boards and I must say, BDH is my favorite developer and this has been my best ROM for sure
