Hey -- not sure if this is a problem with this rom but for some reason my phone keeps going into webtop/hdmi mode when I'm not connected. It keeps asking me if what mode I want and it turns my screen sideways. It just randomly started doing this yesterday. I was on 2.1 and just upgraded to 2.5 to see if it would fix it (it didn't).

Any suggestions?

Great work, by the way bdh -- rom looks top notch.

EDIT: googled and this looks like a hardware issue: not your problem!

Yes it is a hardware issue, I have a motherboard for a RAZR that does it to. However, there IS a fix :)

Go to System Settings > Display > HDMI, uncheck the box

Not sure if this will survive a reboot or not but it's worth a shot. :)

ROM Announcement:

I'm very upset that something in my ROM has caused so many different issues. On that note I will be removing the AOSP lockscreen and going back to Moto's stock lockscreen in v2.6

No this is not an April Fools joke, it's being removed. It's simply too unstable to use and causes way too many issues. The benefit does not outweigh the cost.

Yeah sorry about that, you need to move the apk from /system/app to /data/app then reboot. It will work perfectly then.

I'll look into the stock .16 build and see what apps I took out. Sorry about the hassle!

I tried moving the apk but it didn't work. Rebooted and everything it's just not showing up in my app drawer now.

Rage Rom OTA update support coming soon via Goo Manager :) As of v2.6 you can now download Rage updates straight to your phone via the included Goo Manager app. You will also receive push notifications of updates :) I have v2.6 uploading now. The only changes, are that v2.6 now supports OTA updates.

As for changes to the ROM. v2.7 will have the stock Moto Lockscreen back and other issues will be fixed. Please just be patient, v2.7 will be coming shortly. Probably next weekend.

Nice work and thanks for being on top of this. At what point should be full wipe? 2.6 or 2.7 when it is released?

v2.7 will probably have to be a full wipe as I will be replacing the framework-res.apk. For v2.6 just cache and dalvik should work. If you run into any issues though, just wipe everything and reflash. :)

Also let me add, the link for v2.6 is through goo.im. v2.7 will be a push notification updae through the included Goo Manager app. DO NOT use the Goo Manager app to flash the ROM, DO NOT use Goo Manager to install any recovery!!!

Just use Goo Manager to download the ROM, then reboot into recovery to flash it.

Quick n00b question, what is the best way to back up apps when wiping and flashing new ROM versions? I assume most are using Titanium Backup, but wasn't sure. I'm pretty new to root and am still learning. Thanks for your patience with my simple questions!

Not a noob question at all :)

Some people use Titanium Backup but I use "MyBackup Pro." Works better with ROMs in my opinion than Titanium.

Anyone else having problems with the 2.6 RageROM.zip file from goo.im?
I've tried downloading it on my phone and 2 different computers and all 3 times it shows as an invalid .zip file.

Downloaded to my Razr Maxx this morning without issues.

Dirty install (2 wipes) or clean install (4 wipes)?

Doubtful but you might have tried to download it before the file was finished uploading. Have you got it downloaded yet?

If coming from 2.5 just dirty flash. First time install, make it clean. v2.7 will revert back to some Moto files so it will be a clean install. 2.6 should be fine dirty.

Alternatively for everyone else, if you download the Goo Manager app, you can just use the app to download v2.6 :)

Also, Goo Manager allows for me to attach a changelog to the zip file which will be viewable via the Goo Manager app, so Post #3 will be deleted when v2.7 is released.

You can grab the Goo Manager app from the Play Store free :)

Gary,

The download finishes fine each time, but when I try to open the .zip file it shows as an invalid .zip. Is it supposed to look ike a valid .zip file?
