Currently testing 2.4 and liking what I see. Any chance of getting inverted gmail?

I just have to brag a little bit on the battery life so far. I went ahead and flashed v2.4 this morning and charged back to 100% battery. I calibrated the battery and unplugged. Now normally my battery runs down about 1.67 to 2 percent per hour in the office (don't use it a lot). I looked at the battery usage since the flash and the battery has run down 1% per hour over the past 9 hours. That is FREAKIN AWESOME.

ROM seems to want to start up just fine until it passes the Droid Eye boot animation. First, Text Messaging immediately FC's. Then I receive a dialog stating "Please wait, this may take a few minutes". Following that the screen will eventually turn itself off. I sat here for 10 minutes waiting to see if it'd move past that, but it doesn't. I don't get any cell signal displayed on the status bar, either.

I've tried deleting Slot 1, creating a new slot, installing there.
Full wipe of Slot 1 (system, factory reset, cache, dalvik)
Wiping cache and dalvik then installing over 2.4 with .... 2.4

Ideas?

I did all 4 wipes, created a new ROM slot and installed...with no issues. I'd say try again with a fresh install.

First I've heard of anything like this since 2.2

2.4 is completely flawless. Only thing I can suggest is to wipe everything as stated in the OP and flash to a different ROM slot.

I'll add my 2 cents worth of advice as well. I would definitely go with a new download and follow the directions exactly as stated in the op. Could just have a bad d/l. Let us know how it goes.

I think it's symptomatic of something else. I tried flashing this ROM

JB MR1 v6. I think it flashed something on the system level that isn't overwritten in SafeStrap through ROM deletion, wipe, or recovery.

I tried wiping and installing Rage Rom 2.1 in hopes of getting that up, then flashing 2.4 over it. No go. Same issue. I'm currently rebuilding Slot 1 fresh to see if I can get something I've used previously running.


Edit: Stock ROM boots up just fine. Gonna try putting something else on Slot 1 to see if it runs.

Edit2: Apparently going to Stock ROM and back to Slot 1 before installing 2.4 seemed to solve whatever was going on.

Please DON'T include "inverted" apps. Leaving them as a separate zip to flash if wanted is cool but I HATE the inverted gapps, they make my eyeballs hurt.

Using G Sams Battery, when I unplug the phone, it automatically resets the stats.

can i dirty flash over 2.3? or will that cause alot of issues
