First of all, thanks to the appropriate parties for a full-featured ROM!

However, I have a problem since I loaded v3.3 yesterday. Rage Messaging doesn't stay open. It fc's with "Unfortunately, Rage Messaging has stopped". I followed the install instructions to a tee and had no issues. I downloaded TB so I could restore everything due to the full wipe/reset (found out thru this site that I could've done a zip restore ;) ). Did a Restore missing apps + all system data. Didn't try messaging prior to restoring so I'm not sure if I reloaded something that now blocks it or what?

I tried the *#*# as posted earlier with no success. I thought about re-doing the install over but don't which app/s to not restore.

Any ideas?

TiA,
croakus

Restoring system is probably causing problems. Reflash and only restore user apps & data (nothing system). See if that works. :-)

Thanx for the quick response!

I started from the top:

1) Wiped cache and Davlik - got something I hadn't seen before on reboot:  Dialog box with "Android is upgrading. Optimizing app xx of xx".  Booted up fine but still fc'd Rage Messaging.

2) Fixed permissions.  Took a while but same result.

3) Started from scratch - reflashed ROM.  This time I opened the Rage Messaging before restoring.  Came up fine with "No messages".  Did a "Restore missing apps with data" inTB.  Also "No messages" but it does stay open. Also, had a comment after restore saying "16 apps were not restored" or something very similar.  I did uncheck an app prior to restoring that said "Messaging 4.2.1 -eng.notroglycerine33.20130103.182940" as I thought this might have been what was killing your msg app. (I was running an Eclipse rom prior to wiping slot 1 and installing Rage)

So to sum up: Rage messaging opens but I have no history of im's.  Is there a data file or folder I can pull out of TB and sync with Messaging that has previous mgs?

Thanks,

croakus

Sounds like SMS is working. If you REALLY want to restore old SMS messages, look for a single system app and data "call log/messaging" (I think). You can restore that.

Problem Solved

SR12,

With your help I got ballsy and started to look through TB Restore "Restore all apps with data".  I found "Messages (SMS & MMS)" and restored just that app and data.  Whala! data restored.  But then I had no idea who it belonged to until I noticed that I had no contacts.  Re-sync'd with Google and all is right with the world!  For now  ;)

With yours and jl90's help I learned a lot (mostly what I don't know) and that it does pay to backup and backup often!

Regards,

croakus

You gotta love it when you have such knowledgeable users, that the developer doesn't even have a chance to answer questions lol.

I noticed the default governor on rage is performance. Even though I'm getting good battery life, has anyone changed it?

I had changed it to interactive...it will help your batter life more. Or you could flash the OC mods and try the governors included, and see what works best

I looked in my messages, and I was like jl90 sounds familiar. You were right their on top from when I was trying your oc method late at night like this lol. It's been awhile. I've been trying different roms and all, but I always come back to rage.
