It's probably because you're restoring apps that I have set as system apps in the ROM.

Some of the apps getting the error are google earth, xbox smart glass, and MX player. i tried cache wipes and fix permissions with no luck..

Yes it does I only had to redo it when I flashed 2.2 over 2.1

Flash 2.1, then wipe cache and dalvik, then flash 2.2

Kinda tough when the 2.1 link is missing. Browsing his folder on dev-host i see 2.3 though... Hmmmmm ;-)

Salutations, everyone.

I've had the same problems as everyone. Boot loops, security failures, stuck on the Droid eye... However, I was able to finally get RAGE 2.2 to load by using Matt's Batman Belt thingy. I did not have 2.1 installed.

You have to follow his instructions prior to flashing RAGE.

In the end, it was a good thing for me; as I had hosed my Stock slot. It wasn't even booting. Hehe. I was solely using RAGE 1.4 on ROM Slot 1. I didn't need another ROM. I had RAGE.

Anyway. Here's what I did...

Used Matt's

Rebooted into SafeStrap
Activated Stock
Rebooted System fully
Rebooted into SafeStrap
Backed Up Stock
Activate Slot 1
Flashed RAGE 2.2
Rebooted System
Profit

Don't ask me how, but I even have my apps and data from RAGE 1.4 ... I thought I had chosen Option 1, but maybe I chose 2... Either way. I'm happy to have 2.2 with all my data. (I just don't like restoring and re-setup.)

Don't get me wrong.. I couldn't install any other versions.. I even tried Matt's compatibility kernel tool, but I had to do the full Monty with fastboot'ing with the link'ed tool I mentioned above.

you mean, doesn't work if you DON"T have wifi tethering plan with Verizon? Because, I do and it works (at least for me).

Yes that's what he means and people who don't pay for tethering just use use the entitlement hack.

Calm down things like this happen he didn't realize it till after people where reporting problems and if you read the comments you'll realize that you need 2.1 and that the link has already been posted

so uhh, just asking here to have some j sight.

if you flash just 2.2 it does what? just sit on boot animation?

but if you flash 2.1 you have to go back after setting up and then flash 2.2 ?? thats the only install way for now on this rom?

I'm experiencing a strange issue... everything was working normally after I installed (2.2 flashed over 2.1) and today suddenly no service was available after I turned on wifi (this was my first time using wifi on this rom). I mean 0 service... no 1x, 3g, or LTE. Rebooted multiple times and turned airplane mode off and on. Anyone else experiencing this?

I see. well I am guessing that it is the signature to his framework-res.apk, the reason why it will flash over a previous build but not as a stand alone.... that's why I ask what it does after flashing... worth looking Into tho Gary, since I can't remember which way I did it when adding in the reboot mod.. but that's my guess ~

How long does this take to set in I get the droid then it just stays there over 10 min wiped all again reinsalled same issue Im installing 2.2

I just read post 194 so you need to load 2.1 first then 2.2

Ok everyone check it out, there is a signature issue with v2.2 and it will not flash by itself. Therefore, until I can fix the ROM, the ONLY workaround for this, is to flash v2.1 first, then update to v2.2

I have added a section at the bottom of the OP for older versions of Rage Rom and there is a link there now for v2.1

Please flash v2.1 first, then wipe cache and dalvik and flash v2.2 then you'll be good to go. I'll try to fix this soon but probably won't be able to until this weekend.
