Can I just install the backup I made of 173 when I first rooted?? Then I could install Voodoo and accept the update.

That should work too, I think, but my buddy at work used Voodoo to keep root upgrading to 181 and now some apps cannot use root...
Either way, it can't hurt to try :)

I just downloaded Matt's utility. So I can use that to restore to .173, then update and root to flash this rom. Would that be the safest way?

That's what I would do, just to be safe...you are using Matt's utility 1.51 right?
but if you use Matt's utility, make sure you back up your internal sdcard to your PC first. The Utility wipes it.

Yeah Matt's 1.51. OK I'll copy everything on my sd card and then use the utility to get back to stock 173.

OK one more question. Does it wipe the internal, external or both SD cards?? Just want to make sure I backup the right stuff.

I just updated the OP with the newest build and its release notes. I have a question for everyone though. Would you like me to add the release notes for all the builds or just the current build like I have been doing?

just current is good enough

When you all say internal, are you all talking about the internal 8GB card? Because, I've already upgraded to b21 and my internal 8GB card still has the data on it from Feb. 12 when I first got the phone. It did not go away. So, I'm thinking that only the mnt, osh, misc, preinstall, sbinm sys, system and temp folders are the only ones wiped during this process.

We are referring to Matt's RAZR Utility. It does a full Fast boot reset, just as RSDLite does, including the internal sdcard.

Quoted from the Utility OP:

" For those who don't understand FULL recovery, it means it does everything RSD Lite would have, including wiping the internal SD card, which is REQUIRED for many to be able to activate their phone after the fastboot to 6.12.173."

Thanks for a new version (B21). Been waiting for an update to solve the connectivity issues for some time. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. I'm done with ICS... Back to Eclipse and GB for a more stable user experience...

Mine has stayed connected all day. It did drop down to 3g at one point, but I have not lost connection as of yet.

I notice the problem is most obvious when you manually switch from WiFi to LTE... When 4G starts to lag, I go to WiFi... WiFi gets weird, I try to switch back to LTE... It's a PIA and after installing a half dozen ROMs, with varying results, I've given up...

RSD Lite doesn't wipe internal SD data or text messages (I mention text because they are in the internal memory but not the internal SD partition) when I use it.

Well, after several hours of getting things reinstalled, I've got the same connectivity issues with GB.

This absolutely sucks! I'm beginning to wonder if it is the phone - and if so, convincing Verizon that the Razr has radio issues is going to be as successful as getting congress to leave us alone!

Argh! Now, instead of having a phone I love - i need to pick the lessor of two evils and settle for a "sometimes" phone...

Anyone have any suggestions?!

Not sure if I will load, based on connectivity issues by users.
A good test is toggle airplane mode. If your connection comes back, you should be good and it will exploit an issue if it exists.

Also change your settings to OnDemand governor to help with connnectivity.
