BS or SS? And did you wipe properly? Nobody likes Dingle berries... especially phones.

I used bootstrap. I did the factory reset, wiped the cache twice, wiped dalvik, & formatted /system before flashing. I'm currently at 9 minutes on boot screen after doing everything the second time.

If this doesn't work what else can I do?

Hold power + volume down until it reboots and see if that works for you. It has to be done like that once in a great while after a flash.

Anyone know how to get rid of the vzwnmn:1 text messages? Im getting random texts from them every now and then...

I was having the same issue until I read a post about sending the word STOP in a reply to those texts. I got 2 shortly after and since then, nothing. It seems to work. Hope that helps ya.

I'll try that. It's been booting for almost 15 minutes. Should I go ahead and reboot now?

ok.. this is what I have come up with going thru this forum, just trying to concise
  • Panoramic & FCC camera mode doesn't work (If your camera gets suck by going into one of these 2 modes: To Fix- Goto System Setting/Applications/Camera then select Force Stop then Clear Data, Camera should be back on)
  • Camera shoots at 5MP not 8MP (This is incorrect, Camera is 8MP.. Problem is the app, use a different camera app... I would try this one that doesnt have the offending modes eithers :

    )
  • Initial data acquisition requires network toggle - EVERYTIME YOU BOOT YOUR PHONE!! Toggle Data on Manually!!!
  • Data reacquire doesn't always happen after a drop requiring a reboot to fix
  • Hardware Acceleration/Decoding - This affects many streaming video services (Netflix/NHL/etc)
  • Webtop doesn't work due to it being from Blur
  • Charging indicator icon never turns off even at 100% (it does stop charging though)Initial data acquisition requires network toggle
  • Current Update of Crome doesnt work, try using an older version
  • getting random Insufficient Space when trying to download apps in the market, try to redownload
  • You can't play previously recorded video's through the gallery (if any? never tried recording one)
  • Blue-Tooth needs to be OFF to hear calls made without a Blue-tooth. Also, if you can't hear thru the Blue-tooth, try to toggle the feature On/Off... this has happened randomly

I used bootstrap to install and booted up in a few minutes. Something is up with your phone. A suggestion, if you're comfortable, is to RSD back to [stock] .173 (

) and start over fresh.

thats not what he is saying... he is stuck.... and can't pull the battery out.... This is

Step 1: SOFT BOOT the PHONE!!, reset it by holding the Power and either of the volumn buttons at the same time for about 10-20 secs...

Step 2: If you used Bootstrap, clockworkmod will load automatically (not sure with SafeStrap)...

Step 3: Try to reboot the phone again normally.... wait atleast 15mins for screen disappear and phone to boot

Step 4: If you get stuck again, I hope you made a backup before flashing, check your version of Safestrap/Bootstrap to be most current

Step 5: Before restoring the back-up try and reflash the new Rom again, try wiping datas again (do this step 3x's min)

Step 6: If all is lost and this rom will not work (could be a bad downloaded rom, check MD5 Values, or something else strange)
download this rom again and try again

Step 7: If that didnt work, this rom still didnt work, then try and restore your back-up

Step 8: if you don't have a back-up, download any stock rom and try to flash that.....

Step 9: If all is lost, REALLY!! If all is lost!! -->Verizon may give you a new phone if they can't get it to come back on, (put it in the Microwave and try that for 30sec) (suggust you pull off the case and get the battery out before doing this....then put Battery back in and case back to orginial sealed condition before going to the store..)

Hope this is of help....

One thing that should be said here..having watched this thread for 3 days straight now.....

Being that this rom is in ALPHA stages(and admittedly damn good for an alpha) nobody here should expect it to be a daily runner with all the bells and whistles of a stock rom..

I flashed it, and was very impressed, but even then I knew I'd have to go back to my previous rom.

My advice..if you are prepared, flash it and check it out :) . If it suits you, keep it..if not, enjoy a months early preview ;)

But last but definitely not least.. please READ UP and do your research before trying:)

Best advice I can think of.. peace.

DT shared this a little bit ago, looking forward to it for sure! Are there nightly builds (Eden?)? Maybe tonight or tomorrow?

ok... Automatic data.... nice!!!

Ok, just a question what is that Rom that Superstar Posted? An 2/25 update of CM9 is that for CDMA and is that the same as the AB4 that most of us are using? What are the differences?

I will definitely agree with most everything you said. The only thing that differs for me is this is my daily. :) The toggling off/on of data after each reboot is no big deal to me, I mean honestly, unless you're flashing lots, why does anyone need to shut off their phone so much. Bluetooth works, you just have to know how to use it.

I guess what I'm saying is, just b/c this is an ALPHA (I'd say more so beta stages at this point), it shouldn't keep anyone away from at least trying this rom. Like the poster I quoted stated, read the thread and then flash. A lot of excellent info in the thread and more importantly every step is outlined in the OP to make this ROM work. I've flashed MANY MANY MANY devices and I've never had a device boot loop or brick that wasn't my own fault.

Yes it will work with the Maxx. The Maxx is simply a Razr with a huge battery and different backplate. Everything else is the same.
