I know this is going to get buried fast but this is my list of known issues. Hope it helps keep the repeated questions down. This list is not from any developer, just my personal experience.

  • Panoramic camera mode doesn't work
  • Camera shoots at 5MP not 8MP
  • Initial data acquisition requires network toggle
  • Data reacquire doesn't always happen after a drop requiring a reboot to fix
  • Hardware Acceleration/Decoding - This affects many streaming video services (Netflix/NHL/etc)
  • FFC doesn't work
  • Charging indicator icon never turns off even at 100% (it does stop charging though)

Does this mean I have to do the data toggle every time I restart my phone? lol I kid, thanks for posting this though. I would like to add that if anyone has issues with USB connecting to the computer, try using a different USB port. I have 6 ports on my computer and my phone is only recognized on 3 or 4 of them. Sometimes simple troubleshooting on your own is easier that posting and waiting for a answer on a thread as popular as this. Its easy for something you ask to get buried as arcanexvi has stated about his post.

I almost wish Th3ory would just copy/paste that (my list) into the OP. I'd do it for him but I don't know if he wants to word things differently himself. The "broken" list isn't very detailed lol

Anyone know how to have the camera store pics directly to external sd rather than internal? I know when i was using abysm and stock roms the default was external. I tried to merge my two dcim folders(internal merged to external via root ex) hoping the camera would just send pics there, but whenever I take a new pic it just recreates the dcim folder on internal. Seeing how my external is 95% empty and internal is 80% I much rather store the pics of me flexing in the bathroom mirror with a sock on my junk there :P

This issue is known under the AOKP build. You just have to shut off BT when its not connected to anything and everything should come back.

Probably going to flash this tomorrow, but I was wondering if you have to toggle data every time you turn it on.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk

yes every time you reboot the phone you have to toggle data and the same with the display to get the soft keys to light up

I disagree about the soft keys, actually, I've gotten them to work by something as simple as toggling automatic brightness. Don't exactly know why they're related but whatever works.

If you reboot you have to toggle again

My soft keys have always worked. No toggle at any point.

Looks like I have done something wrong. I an running Eclipse v1.3 over stock .173 in safe mode using SafeStrap.

I tred to flash this in the Safe side, but no luck. With Safe Mode Enabled, I did the following:
  • Wipe Data/Factor reset
  • Wipe Cache
  • Wilpe Dalvik Cache
  • Mounts/Storage - Wipe System
  • Install zip from SD.

Afer that nothing happens. I get the red Moto logo, then it goes blank. I have let it sit in that state for up to 10 minutes with no success. Tried many times with different downloads on both internal and external SD. Always that same results. I have to Fast Boot to get out. backup restores just fine, so no real damage, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Any advice is a apreciated.

I have to say, for an alpha release, this ROM is amazing and now my daily driver. I'm anxious for the updates to come DT! Great work from you and the AOKP team!

Ahh ok thanks. This is yet another reason this build is NOT a daily driver. And this is somewhat of a major issue that should definitely be listed under the "DOESN'T WORK" section in the OP. --- NOT knocking the build by any means here - I know it's an Alpha and I appreciate the fact that I can even give it a spin.

For an alpha, I think this build is amazingly good. I know what I am getting into when I choose to flash. I take responsibility for my actions. DT and the gang- I appreciate your tireless work.

Honestly, if you want everything to work, you should be on stock and not on an alpha release. I've had issues with roms that are out of beta and still have problems.

I tend to read the posts after a rom has been released to establish what is/is not working, and decide to install from there.
