Purpose of this thread:

 

To get you, the locked or unlocked Droid Mini owner, from any version to 4.4.4 (SU4.21).

 

Things you will need:

 

FXZ SU4.21

 

Instructions:

 

Use the RSD Flasher with KEEP DATA to flash this on your phone with RSD.

 

OR

 

Use the House of Moto with KEEP DATA to flash this to your phone with fastboot.

 

This will get you a clean OTA install with no data loss.  You will lose root.

Thx so much. I wonder if after this, safestrap would still be an option at boot? Probably not. If so, I could just reflash SuperSU, but with this phones inability to downgrade software I don't wanna be the rootless guinea pig.

If you FXZ this update on a locked phone, you will be rootless period.  FXZ's reflash all the partitions.  Root never survives.  Nor will safestrap.  Only your data partition remains untouched.

I meant just flashing the needed parts myself via a modded .XML file. So I would flash only system, boot, modem, for now, in theory, I might keep safestrap as it's a separate directory. Then could possibly reflash superSU. I am a bit more savvy with RSD and fastboot, than your average user. Basically, I could do what you do with your HouseOfMoto. Just a little different.

Well you may be savvy with RSD and fastboot, but, you still don't appear to know where root and safestrap hooks live.  As soon as you flash system, you're done with both.  The su binary will be gone as will the hooks for safestrap as they both exist on the system partition.  Flashing that will completely overwrite system with the stock system img file.  IOW, there's no way to do what you're suggesting.

Okay. I knew root itself would be gone as in /system/xbin/su. I just thought safestrap created a separate folder in / . for example like /SS so that even when you flashed /system safestrap could stay put. My bad.

Safestrap has to install its hooks on the system partition.  There are various ways he does that and I'm not up on the latest, but, it's always done on System.  So as soon as you wipe system, those hooks are gone and you lose safestrap.  Without root and WP off, you can't add them back in so flashing any part of this FXZ would lose both abilities.

Currently I have brand new factory unlocked (I believe it is a subsidy unlock by Motorola) xt1030, which came with 4.4 build SU2-3.3. Is it possible to unlock bootloader on this build? I would love to unlock it, before it becomes impossible to do. Phone bugs me with 4.4.4 OTA update messages

Hello guys. I've bricked my Droid Mini with SU5-24 (Android 4.4.4) into qdload mode by blbrick and I didn't know blankflash from version 4.4.2 of official firmware wouldn't help me to restore boot. So, I'm asking you for dumps or backups of sbl3, aboot, tz, rpm, sbl2, sbl1, partition partitions from your Droid Maxx/Ultra/Mini with working SU5-24 firmware.

How I could solve my problems with the mini droid ?
I can not just install a firmware stock with RSD Lite or House of Moto

Because when the process ends and it all ends properly droid mini starts as it was previously

Normally you can not use because if you installed a apps and then turn off the cell this starts restarted without any data
How do I fix ?
